Join the RootCause Community
A group where you can send feedback and talk directly to the people building RootCause. Tell us what is working, what is not, and what you want next.
Free to join. Leave whenever you want.
What the group is for
Three things people use it for. You can do one of them, or all three, or just read.
Send us feedback
If something is broken, confusing, or does not read right, say so. It goes straight to the people who can fix it.
Ask for help
Stuck on something in the app, or not sure what your report is telling you? Ask and someone will answer.
See what is coming
We post what we are building and why, and ask what you think before we decide. New versions go to the group first.
We are testing the next version of RootCause
Today the app gives you a report and then leaves you with it. The next version is the part that comes after. Anyone in the group who wants to try it early can.
Three phases: Identify, Resolution, Healing Plan
Five questions narrow the report down to the specific situation behind your symptom. From there you get practical actions, reframes, and the triggers to watch for.

One card a day for each symptom
Ten seconds. The question changes depending on what is happening with that symptom: how it feels, whether you did the thing you planned, or a reminder on a day that tends to be hard.

A conversation that carries over
It already knows your symptom, your situation, the plan you were given and what you said last week. You are not explaining yourself again every time you open it. It takes the place of the journal, with your context already in it.

If you want to try it early
Joining the group does not commit you to anything. This is what trying the new version involves.
What we would ask of you
Use it on a symptom that keeps coming back. Create a report, start the pathway, then answer the daily card and talk to the companion as the days go by. Give it about a month, and expect three short conversations with us in that time about what worked and what did not.
What you get for it
Six months of full access once the new version goes public: unlimited reports, unlimited pathways and the companion. It starts on the day it launches, which is the first day there is anything to pay for, so none of it is spent while you are trying it.
Get the new version
Pick your phone. Both take about three minutes.
It replaces the RootCause already on your phone
This is an update to the same app, not a second one. Your account and everything in it stays exactly as it is. If you want the current version back at any point, reinstall RootCause from the App Store or Play Store and it will replace it.
iPhone and iPad
Through TestFlight, Apple's app for trying apps before they are released. Install TestFlight first, then RootCause inside it.
Coming soonRequires iOS 15 or later.
Android
A direct download. Your phone will ask you to allow installs from this source once, then it installs like any other app.
Coming soonRequires Android 9 or later.
Before you join
Still unsure about something? Ask in the group once you are in, or write to us at team@rootcause.my.
No. You can join, read what we post, and say something when you feel like it. Trying new versions is a separate thing you opt into whenever one is open.
No. Nothing you have in the app is visible to anyone else, and you share only what you choose to. Plenty of people in the group only ever talk about the app itself.
We post what we are building and ask what you think, and people ask for help with the app.
You do not need an active symptom for either the group or the app. Start with the thing that keeps coming back.
Your account is the same account. Your past reports and journal entries are in Settings, under Past reports and journals, where you can read them. New reports are created fresh in the new version.
The companion replaces it. It holds the same reflective space but it already knows your context and it answers you, so you are not writing into an empty page. Your old journal entries are still there to read in Settings, under Past reports and journals.
On the day the new version goes public. That is the first day there is anything to pay for, so nothing is spent while you are trying it.
Yes. Install RootCause from the App Store or Play Store and it replaces the test version with the current one. You can come back whenever you want.
Yes, the same as it has always been. Your reports, pathways and conversations are yours. We look at what you tell us directly in the group, not at your entries.
